MAKITA EXPANDS ITS XGT RANGE WITH ITS FIRST CORDLESS RIGGING HAMMER
Makita has added a new high-performance jackhammer to its 80VMax XGT range. The HM004G has the same power as its wired counterpart, but with the flexibility, security and convenience of battery power.
Based on Makita's previous corded jackhammers, but with a redesigned hammer mechanism, the HM004G delivers 72.8 joules of impact energy at 870 bpm. Powered by two Makita 40VMax XGT batteries, it can be used not only for breaking, chipping and crosscutting with a 28.6mm hex chisel, but can also be used for trenching with a clay spade attached, or compaction with an attached rammer. For greater user safety and comfort, the HM004G features Makita's Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT). This reduces the vibration that the tool transmits to the user's hands and arms and increases the time that users can work with the tool safely and comfortably. To achieve this, the tool is designed with an innovative counterweight mechanism that compensates for the machine's force and a vibration-absorbing body shell that further reduces the vibration experienced by the user. As a result, the HM004G achieves a vibration level of only 6.5 m/s², which is 30% lower than the previous generation analog wire breaker. The HM004G is a high-efficiency brushless motor that helps deliver the performance you need while achieving excellent runtime per battery charge. Brushless motors use electromagnetism to spin the motor and control the operation of the tool, eliminating friction and wasted energy. As a result, the brushless motor can produce more torque, so the same results can be achieved with less energy, which can increase the run time per battery charge by up to 50% to increase productivity and reduce the number of recharges. The kit also includes Makita's impressive Auto Start Wireless System (AWS). It connects the HM004G to compatible vacuum cleaners, such as the 80VMax (40Vx2) VC006 M-Class Vacuum Cleaner, via Bluetooth, and automatically turns on the vacuum cleaner when the tool is in use, making dust management easier. In addition, the HM004G has soft start and anti-start functions for better safety, as well as two LED work lights for better visibility of the work area.
